Hydrogen is utilized across many industries and applications.
It is a renewable and efficient source of energy. Hydrogen produces zero emissions because it combusts to produce only water. In addition to all of the industries it is utilized in today, hydrogen’s greatest potential is as a gas for fuel.

Applications & Uses

Hydrogen is utilized across diverse industries in different applications.

Power Generation for heat transfer in cooling high-speed turbine generators and nuclear reactors

Metal Production & Fabrication in high-speed operations. Serves as a protective atmosphere in metal production and in plasma welding and cutting operations.

Chemical Processing to hydrogenate non-edible oils such as soaps, plastics, ointments and insulations and other chemical processes for the production of bulk chemical processes.

Food Processing where editable liquid fats and oils are hydrogenated into semi-solid foods such as margarine.

Pharmaceuticals  to produce sorbital, which is used in certain vitamins, adhesives and cosmetics.

Electronics to create specially controlled atmospheres in production of semi-conductor market.

Fuel Cells  to enhance heat transfer in a controlled atmosphere in semi-conductor manufacturing

Aerospace as a fuel to power spacecraft internal systems and at ignition.

 
     
 

Hydrogen is to be handled according to strict safety guidelines for storage and handling outlined in hydrogen Material Safety Data Sheets.

Hydrogen is nontoxic. It is lighter than air and dissipates quickly if released.
It burns with a light blue almost invisible flame. Flame detectors are required.

Hydrogen can ignite very easily and has a lower ignition level than gasoline or natural gas. It has a wide range of flammable concentrations in the air. Adequate ventilation and leak detection are critical.
